BAZAZA UNDER MY BED

WHERE DO YOU GO WHEN YOU NEED TO GET INSIDE YOUR MIND?

A nocturnal soul, B A Z A Z A invites the audience to discover the latest collection in the one place the creative director considers to be his sanctuary: under his bed. A safe place where at the end of the day, far away and closed off from everyone else, imagination runs freely, emotions are touched, doubts are heightened and happiness is relived. Moments are finally savored, inspiration comes alive, originality seeps through, and reality is you.

WHAT DO YOU SEE WHEN YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES AT NIGHT?

In a world that is becoming more virtual and less sincere by the day, a world where we are all hungry to claim credit but not give credit when it is due, the need to appreciate each person’s individuality and uniqueness is growing vital.

The ideas you get late at night when you close your eyes, those are yours. They might be the same ideas as another’s, but they are yours just as much as they are theirs. Own them, share them, voice them.

WHAT DO YOUR FAIRIES SING AND WHAT DO YOUR MONSTERS CRAVE?

The characters in this collection come in the form of fairies and monsters lurking under your bed. Every look represents one of both, each as a reference to a hidden emotion that is later transferred into a nightmare or a dream. Clashes erupt between your magical creatures as your fairies tickle your senses into creating your originality while your monsters hidden in the shadows try to snatch them away filling you with doubts. They are to be tamed once and for all.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAIRIES AND MONSTERS LURING YOU WITH?

The place under my bed was not envisioned as a spooky or scary space; on the contrary, it carries a lot of beading and shine, a fancy atmosphere filled with sparkles of hope apparent in all the intricate beadworks on our gowns. Close your eyes and you can see the light in the darkness, the motifs of floral and mythical elements from petals and mushrooms to snakes and wandering eyes.

Tailoring came in a variety of fabrics as always, from flowing chiffon, tweed and tulle to leather, denim and lace accompanied by diverse accessories and new bags in ten distinct versions. Thirty looks have summed up the mood of a mythical attitude deriving from the brand oozing sensuality.

As for the color palette, the designer imagined himself working in a void pitch-black room so that every piece could pop out. There was no specific color scheme to follow just as you don’t decide what hues you will see once your eyes are shut. A mix of brightness and darkness merged into one makes up the entire collection.

Nods to our signature styles and techniques of color blocking, geometric cuts and lace collage are rather ubiquitous in this collection.
