Noon By Noor presents Spring Summer 2025 ‘Ray of Light’ at London Fashion Week

Founders and Designers Shaikha Noor Rashid Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Mohamed Al Khalifa of Noon By Noor unveiled their Spring Summer 2025 collection titled ‘Ray of Light’ in a salon-style presentation today at London’s prestigious Somerset House.

The collection draws inspiration from the interplay of light and shadow, a concept rooted in the pioneering work of photographer Man Ray and contemporary artist Katerina Jebb. The designers explored how light can transform and reveal hidden layers within garments, echoing Ray’s innovative rayographs and Jebb’s meticulous photographic studies.

In their notes, the designers recall the moment in their studio in Bahrain, where a meticulously constructed black tulle dress was hung from the window frames, with sunlight casting a detailed view of its intricate layers.

Shaikha Noor Rashid Al Khalifa remarked, “The image we saw was beautiful, reminding us of early Man Ray photographs and the more modern work of Katerina Jebb—both photographers we have admired over the years. This was the spark that led to the conversation with our team about the construction of our Spring Summer 2025 collection.”

This theme is reflected in the collection’s use of translucent fabrics, layered textures, and subtle contrasts, creating a dynamic visual experience that celebrates the essence of illumination and depth.

Fabrics include pure Irish linen, cotton poplin, crystal pleated tulle, techno tulle and wadding, as well as natural yarn blends with modern technical finishes to achieve a lightweight and clean aesthetic. Exclusive prints are featured on cotton poplin and crystal pleated tulle, with translucent sequined tulle highlighted as a key detail this season.

Shaikha Haya Mohamed Al Khalifa added, “Accidents and our approach to the results are always a part of our creative process. By playing with proportions, offsetting details and creating shadows from the multi-layers used in our construction, we create a translucent illusion of depth through tinted colours and textures.”

Silhouettes are designed to reflect both fragility and strength, balancing fantasy with grounded elegance. Linen tuxedos are paired with long skirts, and dresses that embrace a surreal, offkilter attitude, often worn over other garments and adjusted with a nonchalant twist. Layered fabrics and colours subtly shift in and out of focus, creating a dreamy, ethereal effect.

In collaboration with composer Uwe Doll, the presentation features a unique soundscape that reflects the excitement of dressing up and discovering new songs. The overlapping tracks create a surreal auditory experience that complements the collection’s visual narrative.
