Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring Summer 2024 took place in Petit Palais last week. The collection looked like it was inspired by futuristic cowboys and technology. There were 32 looks in total with a variety of different materials, shapes and larger-than-life asymmetrical designs.

In true Schiaparelli fashion, we saw lots of black looks, most notably with velvet or vinyl. Many of the looks had either exaggerated round shoulders or dramatic high collars and structures. Cowboy-inspired buckles and horse braids were seen a few times on the runway. Most models either wore dome tubed necklaces or dramatic earrings.

The most-talked-about accessory had to be the “baby” foam doll that was embroidered with Swarovski crystals and microchips. For the risk-takers: there was a green and silver robot dress with Y2K phones, a calculator, and a headset attached. A must-see look was this feather/scale effect nude dress, complete with a keyhole slit in the front and full-on face cover

that had hand-painted intense false lashes on. Another look worth mentioning was an off-white suit and tie with exaggerated round shoulders.
