Lancôme carefully selected specific UV filters to achieve the best possible sensoriality with a texture that is both non-sticky and non-greasy. Our patented formula has been designed to overcome these challenges, thanks to our highest concentration of hydrophilic filters. With our filtering system, combined with water-loving emulsifiers and texturizers, the total percentage of the water phase of the formula is 64.5%. This ratio of hydrophilic and lipophilic filters allows us to provide a non-sticky feel.

DEFENDING AGAINST UVB, UVA AND LONG UVA RAYS

UVA rays are considered as “Aging” rays because they can prematurely age your skin by causing wrinkles and dark spots. UVB rays are the “Burning” rays responsible for sunburn. Overexposure to both UVA and UVB can lead to severe skin damage, no matter your skin or phototype.

Protection against UVA is essential as these rays penetrate deeper into the skin compared to UVB and causes photoaging. Protection against UVB is more important for individuals with light skin as there is a higher risk of sunburn, DNA damage and eventual development of skin cancers. Although darker skins are naturally better protected against UVB, they are more prone to hyperpigmentation induced by visible light and UVA. Importantly, long UVA rays affect all phototypes and optimal protection against long UVA is thus essential.

• 3% Niacinamide: Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B3 involved in various processes that maintain skin health. It is known to inhibit melanin transfer to correct skin dullness and hyperpigmentation. It also increases ceramides and collagen production to strengthen the skin barrier and reduce fine lines.
• 1% Vitamin E: Vitamin E or Alpha-tocopherol is a lipophilic vitamin that is found in vegetal oils. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps the skin fight against UV-induced and the oxidative stress caused by pollution.
• 3% Green Chemistry Dandelion: Our bio-based Dandelion extract is made out of enzymatic hydrolysis. It counteracts dullness and defends skin against pollution damage.
