• Altorilievo (High Relief) and low relief

The Maison envisions garments in Altorilievo (High Relief). The new Valentino technique sees fabric sculpted into three dimensions, creating naturalistic forms. Organic motifs - from Baroque foliage to fruit, flowers and animals - come together in elaborate yet simple detail, their form entirely determined by what is beneath. Of particular note, geometrical flowers: brought to life through a multitude of three-dimensional petals, communicate with the body, evolving into the construction and structure of the dress itself. The decoration is the structure built around the naked body. The items are characterized by a dedicated label Valentino Altorilievo.

• Silhouettes and fabrics

This season, the human form becomes part of the fabric, inseparable and meant to be celebrated. For Valentino L’École, silhouettes are shortened, bold cutouts offer glimpses of skin, and garments themselves illuminate the women within. In keeping the body as a central consideration, the Maison looks to redefine materials. Linen - comfortable and often airy - is seen under a new context, cut and fit tight to the frame. In changing its usual form, linen becomes a more sensual material, synonymous now with intimacy. For an added allure, the material is rendered in red, blending its meaning with an evocative hue.

• Denim and t-shirt

At the core of the collection is an awareness of the body; how can nudity be redefined? By accentuating it, exploring it, designing its freedom. T-shirts and jeans in softened form, reflecting feminine curves. Gentle and tender, simple t-shirts are then made indulgent in silk, elongated and draped, or preciously embroidered. A minimal palette meant to accentuate the wearer, pieces - a white t-shirt and a pair of denim - are both pure and natural, delicately undone.

• Prints and patterns

Throughout the collection, prints of pomegranates, pineapples and flowers usher in a sort of contemporary renaissance, offered in a light white, almost gypsum, palette. On other looks, mythological elements like gryphons and sirens offer a new perspective, while their classic geometrical shapes transform into all-over patterns.

Techniques range from printed canvas, leather and linen, high frequency leather, and even cornely raffia embroidery.
