MAISON VALENTINO LAUNCHES VALENTINO GARAVANI COLLABORATION WITH PORTER

The aesthetic heritage of Maison Valentino encounters refined Japanese craftsmanship for a new accessories collaboration between Valentino Garavani and PORTER. A special capsule of Valentino Garavani bags was unveiled on the runway at Valentino The Narratives Spring/ Summer 2024 menswear show in Milan, last June.

A collaboration is, at its core, a conversation between differing codes and traditions, ideas and iterations. For Valentino Garavani and PORTER, two far away worlds come together under a commitment to superior craftsmanship and exacting detail. The Maison’s Couture excellence meets PORTER’s tradition of pieces that marry utility with striking simplicity and enduring style.

Borrowing from the aesthetic codes of each brand, the collaboration bags have been developed under two creative pillars, consisting of a group of Valentino Garavani Locò bags to which PORTER’s famed nylon has been applied, and a second group including the Toile Iconographe pattern in jacquard atop iconic PORTER silhouettes. Inside every capsule model, a Rosso Valentino interior unites the offering while making an explicit reference to the legendary color of the Maison.

For the collaboration, the contemporary Valentino Garavani Locò silhouette finds itself under the influence of PORTER’s always-practical, essentials-only design aesthetic. On a small and medium iteration of the bag, PORTER’s nylon is imagined in a range of hues from black and khaki to yellow.

Also in the mix, four traditional PORTER styles are given a Maison makeover. Atop PORTER’s briefcase, tote, shoulder bag and shoulder pouch, the Valentino Toile Iconographe pattern leaves an indelible mark in subtle tone-on-tone hues. On each style, precious details mark PORTER’s timeless sensibilities, including a detachable Valentino Garavani pochette on the shoulder pouch and premium hardware built for durability.

In keeping with the capsule’s commitment to quality, all pieces are entirely made in Japan, following rigorous design and construction standards. To complement each bag, a special dust bag has been rendered in Valentino’s classic Rosso hue and dons each brand’s iconic logo side by side.
