March 1st, 2022 marks the launch of Balenciaga’s Defender, available in stores worldwide and on balenciaga.com. A rounded, tire-like silhouette defines the latest in Balenciaga’s signature footwear innovations.

First seen during the House’s Summer 22 “Red Carpet” presentation, the sneaker’s XL, chunky, treaded sole rolls when in stride.

The Balenciaga Defender combines classic running shoe elements with distinct design. A leather-free mesh and technical material upper is intentionally distressed to affect a worn-in aesthetic.

A monochromatic scheme, in either faded black or dirty white, lends neutrality to an otherwise exaggerated identity.
