On 3 February 2023, after several months of renovation, the Chaumet boutique in Olaya reopened its doors to the public, revealing a modernist setting for lovers of jewellery.

Dedicated to a selection of High Jewellery and the Maison’s emblematic collections, this contemporary boutique offers a unique entry into the world of Chaumet. Progressing through the light-bathed spaces, a multitude of precious details emerge to provide an airy backdrop to the jewellery creations. Merging past and present, the boutique represents an immersion in an intimate and refined atmosphere with modernist accents, where the Maison’s symbolic references dialogue with artistic contributions. If Chaumet has made curves a signature in terms of interiors, this new boutique’s clean lines break with such codes through the use of vertical and horizontal forms. Blending tradition and modernity, it revisits the spirit of 12 Vendôme with a sense of purity and lightness, while echoing the energy that epitomises the Middle East.

In this singular setting, every detail counts. In tribute to its virtuoso jewellery savoir-faire, the Maison has called on various artisans and artists to infuse the boutique’s décor with unique character.

Among them, the Saudi artist Dr Khulod Albugami created two works displayed in front of one of the private salons. Taking powerful inspiration from the region’s heritage, his sculptures symbolise strength, love and simplicity, values which Chaumet shares with Saudi culture. The first evokes the scales of a palm tree trunk, a naturalistic identifier for the country, while the second is inspired by Arabic letters and uses a word representing women and their success.

At Olaya, the Chaumet style draws on local culture to offer a jewellery experience imbued with meaning.
