Doha - FENDI announces the opening of its boutique

FENDI announces the opening of its boutique located in the North Node Central Concourse, the latest expansion of the Hamad International Airport.

The boutique is designed by FENDI’s internal Architecture department and embraces the entire FENDI universe, simultaneously drawing inspiration from key elements of timeless Roman Architecture. The boutique offers 220 sqm of selling space and features a stunning selection of women’s and men’s collections

The imponent and iconic façade elevates for two floors and alternates a cladding of more than 300 square meters of gold leaf with ivory textured concrete, emphasized by a slanted sign. The design is clearly inspired by Roman Heritage buildings and the grandiose arches are an iconic FENDI signature, recalling that of Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana – FENDI’s headquarter.

Upon entry the clients are welcomed into a square delimitated by scenographic open arches that create a unique game of perspectives. The square flooring features a modern reinterpretation of the distinctive Roman “Sampietrini” pattern, crafted in metal. At the heart of the space an avant-garde photo booth, offers a LED futuristic backdrop for clients to immortalise their instore moments. This temporary installation will be replaced by a sculptural fountain, composed of alternating silver metal columns and 7500 crafted glass disks, which are internally illuminated to emulate the fluidity of water flowing. This provides a special piece for the Qatar exclusive items, exhibited around the fountain.

Proceeding into the boutique, clients step into a gallery space with a special focus consisting of meticulously crafted glass with gold leaf inside. The interiors embrace FENDI’s iconic design codes and distinctive dualism: the displays alternate stainless steel and champagne coloured metal, while the characteristic Italian Arabescato Vagli marble spans throughout the flooring and the magnificent staircase creating an opulent atmosphere. The ready-to-wear and shoes area is characterised by soft couches and carpets combined with special bespoke furniture in Cristallo tropicale marble.

From March 2023 the second floor will feature the first permanent Fendi Cafe globally. Currently, the Fendi Cafe can be found a few steps away from the boutique, as a temporary installation. The design concept of the café is heavily inspired by FENDI’s Fall 2022 collection, featuring the distinctive O’Lock motif.  A red LED sign illuminates the bar area, which consists of alternating patterns of wooden pequin and FENDI’s signature yellow.  The menu offers the client a taste of Italy, featuring traditional Italian dishes, desserts, and a selection of coffees.”
