SCHIAPARELLI UNVEILS ITS NEW “SCHIAP” BAG FOR ITS FALL-WINTER 2023

The name is a tribute to Elsa Schiaparelli, known as “Schiap” by her intimate circle, and a friendly nod to this everyday companion with clean lines which bear the singular and resolutely modern stamp of Schiaparelli creations.

This highly desirable accessory, designed by Artistic Director Daniel Roseberry, is destined to become a new must-have in the Schiaparelli wardrobe.

“For this new Schiap bag, I wanted to riff on a classic profile rather than chase a trend; simple feels perfect to me right now”, says Daniel Roseberry.

The silhouette is a rectangular shape with a simple flap, embellished with smooth lambskin with a shiny appearance and a soft touch, with a supple texture thanks to quilting work and strips leather mounted one by one.

The “Schiap” bag is adorned with the Maison’s signature codes, and more particularly with attributes borrowed from the iconic “Shocking!” perfume, created by Elsa Schiaparelli in 1937. On the outside, the embossed leather bands, which are repeated on the infinity, are enhanced with golden hot stamping evoking the measuring tape that circled the shoulders of the emblematic bottle. An interior shocking pink leather lining references the powerful color invented for the perfume.

The bag is closed by a hammered brass plate adorned with a lock that evokes secrecy and mystery, another signature symbol of the Maison that can be found on clothing, jewelry, belts and shoes.

The chain is made of hammered brass rings assembled one by one.

Practical thanks to its skilfully designed volume, it has an interior zipper and several integrated card holder openings.

Easy to wear, adapting to all outfits, from the most sophisticated to the most classic, this new essential is available in two complementary formats: a clutch version, with a completely detachable golden brass chain that allows it to be worn by hand or on the shoulder for evening, and a bag version with an adjustable chain for a hybrid carry.

Chic, elegant and timeless, the “Schiap” bag defines the silhouette with an instantly recognizable “Schiap” touch.
