Co-designed with Atelier Jolie founder, filmmaker, and humanitarian Angelina Jolie, the collection honours both Chloé’s and Atelier Jolie’s respective commitments to championing social and environmental sustainability while advocating for global artisans and creators. Incorporating deadstock and

natural fabrics – such as organic silk, organic crepe de chine, and certified wool – the collection comprises at least 80% lower-impact materials, a higher percentage than any previous collection from the B Corp certified Maison. Manufactured according to Chloé’s social sourcing framework, it also features partnerships with Akanjo, a World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) guaranteed social enterprise based in Madagascar that is committed to training and promoting craftsmanship, as well as La Fabrique Nomade, a Paris-based programme which promotes professional inclusion for refugee and migrant artisans in France. At least 50% of the collection is manufactured through Fair Trade enterprises, social enterprises or social sourcing.

Spanning sleek dresses, relaxed tailoring, sophisticated outerwear and lightweight luxurious layering pieces, the collection was developed in the Chloé atelier by former Creative Director Gabriela Hearst in partnership with Angelina Jolie, and combines Chloé’s feminine signatures and exacting craftsmanship with Jolie’s decisive taste for refined minimalism. Inspired by femininity in all its guises, several designs reference treasured items that Jolie has had in her wardrobe for decades, including a white embroidered cotton dress she wore as a child and today wears as a top, as well as a black velvet cape. The collection is executed in a largely neutral colour palette developed for a diverse range of skin tones, while its sizing will cater for a variety of body types.

Feminine power is subtly expressed in sweeping silhouettes and sinuous fabrics. A long black velvet opera cape sets a modish tone in outerwear, conferring enduring elegance on any outfit. A fluid white dress with a gathered neckline made from deadstock micro silk sable offers a modern take on day-to-night dressing. The Maison’s signature lavallière shirt in deadstock hammered silk-satin pairs tastefully with the expertly tailored black velvet pants. A streamlined three-piece black suit made from deadstock woogabardine proves the simplest ideas stand the test of time.

In the spirit of Atelier Jolie, the creative collective founded in 2023 by Angelina Jolie, whose stated aims include the provision of apprenticeships for refugees and other talented, underappreciated groups, the scallop-mesh embroidery for a white cotton tank top was developed in partnership with La Fabrique Nomade. The Paris-based social initiative provides professional inclusion for refugee and migrant artisans living in France. Extending the collective ethos, Jolie’s earnings from this collaboration will go towards establishing apprenticeships and building infrastructures for refugees and other underrepresented groups at Atelier Jolie.

The Chloé x Atelier Jolie collection will be available at Chloé boutiques and online at Chloe.com from beginning January 2024.
