MR PORTER and 66°North launch exclusive outerwear and accessories capsule collection inspired by Icelandic nature

Men’s style destination MR PORTER and Icelandic outerwear brand 66°North collaborate for the first time to launch a limited-edition exclusive capsule collection inspired by Icelandic nature.

Debuting on MR PORTER from 30th October, following the launch of 66°North’s mainline collection, the exclusive four-piece capsule includes two outerwear styles and two accessories.

Within the two outerwear styles is 66°North’s iconic Dyngja puffer jacket and vest available in an all over print inspired by the colours of “Skófir” moss. The print was developed from photographs taken on a research trip the 66°North design team took in Iceland, whilst exploring the country’s impressive landscapes. Each Dyngja AOP style is completely unique, as the pattern falls differently on each piece, creating a totally individual product each time.  The outer layer of the jacket is made from recycled polyester and is insulated with a blend of goose and duck white recycled down, reclaimed from used clothing and bedding. The Dyngja puffer, originally produced in 2005, is one of 66°North’s most popular styles. It not only ensures protection from cold and harsh conditions, but it’s also comfortable enough to wear throughout your everyday commute.

“Inspired by the moss-covered stretches of Iceland, we crafted a garment merging nature with its people. The result is a meticulously designed camouflage, a testament to the combined artistry and dedication of our team, paying tribute to Iceland's natural beauty.” Kei Toyoshima, Creative Director, 66°North

To round off the capsule, 66°North’s core backpack and bum-bag styles have been reimagined in an exclusive ‘Glacial Clay’ colourway; drawing inspiration from the glaciers that dominate the landscape in many parts of Iceland. Made using a leftover PU rainproof material from past-season bags, the styles reference the brand’s fisherman heritage with reflective details and coated waterproof fabric.
